Hakuba Mountain Harbor stands atop Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort and faces the spectacular scenery of the Northern Japanese Alps.

It is open for the green season from late April to mid-November.

Enjoy the views while having a cold drink and a snack from the attached cafe.

*The 2024 green season operating period is from April 19th to November 17th.

“高山植物の女王”と呼ばれる「コマクサ」

寒さや乾燥など他の高山植物は生えることができない
厳しい環境下で生育する“孤高の花”🌼

長野県内では6月下旬頃から北アルプスや八ヶ岳などの高山で出会えます⛰

栄養分が乏しい砂礫地に生育するため
根は1メートル以上になるとか👀

可憐で美しい姿と
大自然で生き抜く力強さを兼ね備えた高山植物です🌺

Komakusa Flowers
(Hakuba Village; Kurobe City, Toyama Pref.)

Komakusa flowers, often called the “Queen of Alpine Flora,” can be seen around the mountains of Nagano from late June.

These lofty plants can tolerate harsh conditions better than other highland flora and will flourish where others cannot. As an example of their hardiness, to get enough nutrients out of the gravelly soil, their roots grow over one meter in length!

If you happen upon them, be careful not to step on them after you’ve finished appreciating their beauty!

*Komakusa is a protected alpine species. Refrain from walking off trail or entering prohibited areas as it may disturb their environment.

*When entering the mountains, be sure to bring appropriate hiking gear and give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination.

白い可憐な花が群生
「上高地　ニリンソウ」

「ニリンソウ」は春山を代表する花の一つ🌼
1本の茎から二輪ずつ花をつけることから名付けられたとか✨

日本屈指の山岳景勝地「上高地」でも
ハイキングコースの至る所で見ることができます🍃

例年の見頃は5月～6月🌼
白く可憐な花が一面に咲き誇る様子は圧巻👏

Nirinsō Flowers in Kamikochi
(Matsumoto City)

Nirinsō flowers (Anemone flaccida) are a representative flower of mountainous areas in spring. From each stalk blooms two flowers.

They are in bloom from May to June, creating white carpets of delicate flowers on the forest floor.

Access
1 hour by car from the Matsumoto IC of the Nagano Expressway to the Sawando Parking Lot. From there, take a shuttle bus or taxi to the park*.
By public transportation, 30 minutes by Alpico Kamikochi line train to Shinshimashima Station, then 65 minutes by bus to the park.

*Private vehicles are not allowed to enter Kamikochi
